PE蜡具有强的极性的很长的非极性碳链。其结构中在极性上与塑料相容的部分起内润滑作用，在极性上与塑料不相容的部分起外润滑和脱模的作用，那么PE蜡的真假该如何辨别呢?

　　1、片状聚乙烯蜡 真品片状蜡一看就是塑料，比较硬的感觉，跟塑料片无异，表面光滑，半透明，自然白或微黄，掰开看层面不分层，无石灰粉、黑点等杂质，一面映着光看有很好的光亮度;

　　2、用手去摸 真品有很好的光滑性，摸上去是塑料的感觉而不是石蜡的感觉，质硬，性脆，易碎，常温不成团。含石蜡、硬化油、费托蜡的假货发腻，摸上去油油的，有摸蜡烛的感觉，或粗糙，看上去像没和好的面片，软软的，粉末的如果用手去握就成团了;

　　3、闻气味 真品闻上去是塑料的味道，假货是石蜡的气味或强烈的异味;

　　4、开水煮把蜡片放玻璃器皿里加热水沸5分钟，蜡片形状不变是真品，变糊或变形是含石蜡等杂质。虽然测试方法不同，测试环境不同，但真品的软化点一定高于100摄氏度。

　　5、使用熔点仪、红外光谱仪、及核磁共振测试真品的熔点一般在105度左右，且熔程较窄，掺了其他物质的熔点低且熔程宽。红外光谱仪就像是火眼金睛，很容易辨明真假，但是仪器较贵。核磁共振就更加不用说了。
